ABOUT US

We are the institutional backbone of Nigeria's fashion industry.

The Nigerian Fashion Council is a Federal Government-mandated Sector Skills Council, inaugurated on the 4th of March 2025, by the Federal Ministry of Education through the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). We exist to coalesce industry leaders, policymakers, designers, craftsmen, manufacturers, innovators, and fashion-focused associations around a singular ambition, strengthening our entire value chain and positioning every aspect of it for excellent impact.

Our Vision

Shaping a fashion industry that is resilient, sovereign, and contributes effectively to the global fashion value chain.

Our Mission

Building the people, systems, and infrastructure at the heart of the sector; facilitating innovation across the entire ecosystem; and protecting the core human, cultural, and economic assets of our industry.

What We Do

Three pillars. One industry transformed.

The Nigerian Fashion Council operates through three strategic pillars Build, Innovate, and Protect, a framework through which we are transforming Nigeria's fashion industry into one capable of excelling on the global stage. Each pillar represents a distinct area of strategic focus. Together, they create the conditions for sustainable growth, global positioning, and long-term value creation.

Build — Infrastructure for World-Class Performance

The Build pillar establishes the foundational systems, infrastructure, and human capital that enable our designers, artisans, and professionals to operate at international standards.

Innovate — Driving Ingenuity Across the Value Chain

The Innovate pillar positions us at the forefront of industry evolution by driving creativity and ingenuity across every aspect of the business.

Protect — Securing Long-Term Value

The Protect pillar establishes the frameworks, standards, and systems that secure the long-term value of our most important assets — our human capital, cultural heritage, and economic returns.
